My Background
My love for sewing started when I was a child watching my Mother sew. I sewed my own clothes in college after purchasing a Singer Featherweight at Marshall Fields in Chicago. I continued to sew for my five children (one boy and four girls). I started teaching over 25 years ago at first in a quilt shop and then at national quilting and sewing shows. I have taught heirloom sewing, quilting, free motion quilting, garment construction/embellishment, trapunto by machine and silk dyeing. I did free-lance work for Butterick as well as several sewing and quilting books. My passion has continued to grow as I learn and teach new methods and techniques. I have appeared on several TV shows, written magazine articles and contributed to a number of books on sewing. I have taught at guilds, shops and national quilting shows

My Background
My medium is my sewing machine. I sew garments, quilts including traditional, art, modern, and some home dec. I love to use my machine every way possible, utilizing all the different feet available. Some examples would be free motion stitching, couching, trapunto, heirloom and bobbin work.
